Translation Work Selection Period

Hero Manga Artist Selection Period

October 1, 2025 – April 30, 2026, 23:59 (JST)

It is free of charge. There will be no application fees or costs after the selection process.

Format:

Recommended files: PSD/PDF (JPG/PNG also acceptable). If you have a cover image and page images, please combine them into a single ZIP file and submit it together via google form.

Recommended resolution:

Width of 860–1680 pixels Vertical of 1200–2370 pixels

Minimum resolution:

300 dpi (ppi) or higher. Extremely low resolution may negatively affect selection priority.

Layers:

Providing both text/no-text data, or separating text layers in PSD, will make translation easier and positively affect selection priority.

Chapter length guideline:

Around 20-40$ pages per chapter. Longer works may be divided at appropriate breaking points.

Page count definition:

The page count includes title page, main content, and colophon.

• Must be a manga (webtoon vertical scroll excluded)

• Must feature original characters created by the applicant.

• Existing works already being published on other platforms may also be submitted.

• Parody or other derivative works using others’ IP are excluded.

• The output of generative AI must not constitute the main component (auxiliary use is allowed).

• R18 works must comply with Japanese law and platform regulations, and necessary censorship such as mosaics must be applied.

• Other works deemed inappropriate for publication by our company will be excluded.

• There are no restrictions on genre. All genres are accepted. Works will be selected in balanced proportions across categories such as General/All Ages, BL, TL, and R18. From the mid to late stages, if genres that sell better are identified, we may shift focus accordingly.

• Manga fulfills all of the eligibility requirements

• Manga with potential to sell in Japan

1. Translation Costs: ¥1,000 (tax included) per page × number of pages in the manga (recouped from sales revenue, never directly charged to the artist).

2. Profit Split: Remaining revenue after deduction of translation costs split: 50% Author / 50% DouDouDoujin.

3. Hero Support: Authors earning ¥300,000+ by April 2026 qualify for “Hero Manga Creator” status, which includes fan works contest (for their home country) using the relevant work funded by us.

Payment Method:

• Monthly calculation.

• Payout once revenue exceeds ¥10,000, or at the 5-month mark.

• Paid via Wise or bank transfer (fees deducted from author’s share).

Non-exclusive:

Rights to the original work remain with the author. Third-party licensing or personal use by the author is not restricted.

Suspension of publication:

The author may request suspension of publication, normally with 30 days’ notice.

Scope of publication:

The Japanese version will also be published on our company’s platform. Publication in other languages (e.g., English, Indonesian) is optional.

Promotion permission:

For “Hero” initiatives, we will consult with the author to establish an Approved Actions List (recommended scope of usage).

Translation files:

Translation files will be provided to the author upon publication.

• Not all submitted works will be selected for translation. Selections will be based on potential marketability in Japan.
  

• For works not selected, we will provide feedback on the reasons for non-selection whenever possible.
  

• Please note that feedback does not guarantee selection, even if all suggested improvements are made.
  

• Works that are not selected initially may be reconsidered if revised and resubmitted.
